The Lexus ES has been updated again, with a new infotainment system, redesigned centre console, and tweaked colour options, all for higher prices.

The 2023 Lexus ES has been updated for the new model year, ahead of first showroom arrivals late next month – priced up to $990 higher than before.

A year after the ES was treated to a mid-life update, Lexus' mid-size sedan has gained a new infotainment system, revised connectivity, and new trim and colour options.

Leading the updates is the introduction of the Toyota group’s latest infotainment system, offering wireless Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto, new cloud-based satellite navigation, and a “Hey Lexus” voice assistant.

It's housed in a 12.3-inch screen – now with touch control only, ditching the old touchpad – above a redesigned centre console, now with three more USB-C ports (one beside the gear selector, and two in the centre console box), and standard wireless phone charging across the range.

Previously, opting for a model grade with a wireless charging pad deleted the USB-C charging ports in the centre console bin.

The car's Lexus Connected Services suite has been expanded with the previously-mentioned cloud navigation system (with traffic, weather and parking details), and remote access to odometer, fuel level, fuel range, vehicle location, and other key readings via a phone app.

From the app, owners can now check if the doors, windows, boot and bonnet are open or closed, unlock the boot/doors remotely, activate the horn, monitor tyre pressures, and control the hazard lights.

Nine colours are available across most models: Sonic Quartz (white), Titanium (silver/grey), Sonic Iridium (silver/grey), Sonic Chrome (silver), Graphite Black, Vermillion (red), Glacial Ecru (gold), Radiata Green and Deep Blue.

The solid Black exterior colour has been deleted, and on F Sport models, White Nova and Cobalt Mica (blue) colours are available in place of Sonic Quartz and Deep Blue.

Inside, a new Solis White colour scheme replaces the Rich Cream option previously available.

The entry-level ES250 continues to use a 152kW/243Nm 2.5-litre non-turbo four-cylinder petrol engine, coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive for a 9.1-second run from 0-100km/h, and a combined fuel economy claim of 6.6L/100km.

The ES300h hybrid mates a 131kW/221Nm 2.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor to produce 160kW combined, routed to the front wheels through a continuously-variable automatic transmission (CVT).

Fuel use is rated at 4.8L/100km combined, while the 0-100km/h time drops to 8.9 seconds.

The 2023 Lexus ES range is due in showrooms in late September. Price and equipment lists are below – though details of Enhancement Pack pricing is yet to be confirmed.

All prices listed above exclude on-road costs.

Lexus Australia hasn't provided an official equipment list for the 2023 ES as of publishing, but we've updated the 2022 list with the new features confirmed in the company. This story will be updated if more information becomes available.
